Contaminated Land case study
Rapid Response Environmental Due Diligence Team

In late 2009, we were asked to carry out the investigation and assessment of eleven fuel oil depots prior to possible acquisition. The main purpose of the surveys was to provide an estimate for potential environmental liabilities associated with ground contamination at these sites.

Full reporting for each site was required within a four week timeframe.

At each site, we carried out a detailed site walkover, intrusive investigation, chemical analysis, monitoring, assessment and reporting.

Our reports included a summary of the ground conditions and contamination encountered along with cost estimates for the remediation of soil and groundwater contamination and recommendations to ensure legislative compliance. In addition, our reports included environmental risk management recommendations for each site to limit any on-going contamination post acquisition. The work was completed successfully and all reports submitted ahead of schedule.
